What it is
A thermal storage tank holds water that has already been heated, delivering a large instant volume. It is the natural choice for bathtubs, several simultaneous showers and for any system combined with solar collectors.
What is included
- Documented volume calculation
- Tank with safety accessories
- Insulation on every connection
- Heat-loss test
- Operation and maintenance guidance
How it works
Volume calculation
We estimate peak draw so the stored volume is right, with no wasteful oversizing.
Pressure class
We confirm whether the system is gravity-fed (low pressure) or pump-fed (high pressure).
Installation
Levelled base, safety valve, vent and fully insulated connections.
Testing
We test for leaks, verify thermostat operation and measure overnight heat loss.
Frequent questions
Low or high pressure?
If the feed comes straight from a gravity tank, it is low pressure. If a pump pressurises the line, the tank must be rated for high pressure.
Does the tank lose heat overnight?
A little, and most of the loss happens at the connections rather than the body. That is why we insulate all nearby piping.
Can I add solar later?
Yes, provided the model has collector connections. Tell us up front and we specify a tank that is ready for it.
